Reflections of 2018

For the last few years, at the end of each year I sit down and create a vision board. The vision board consist of graphical images based on the things I would like to accomplish for the upcoming year. While I admit I did not accomplish everything on my vision board, I accomplished the majority of them. Some things are repeats that I’ve once again failed to achieve. When I think about those “carryovers,” I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s simply from the failure to try. Failure to put forth the effort to at least get the process started. It’s a difference when you can acknowledge your shortcomings versus making excuses. So that’s my truth.

The biggest goal was to live life without fear and travel more. I wanted to go after all the things I’ve been putting on the back burner for years. First up was a trip out of the states. For our 10th year wedding anniversary my husband and I went to Bermuda. Oh the beauty we were surrounded by was surreal and such a wonderful experience.

TORONTO CANADA

Next up was my 1st visit to Toronto Canada. Although it was a business trip for work I was still able to explore the city.

NEW YORK CITY

My favorite trip of the year easily was New York City. I’ve envisioned visiting NY every since high school, however when 9/11 hit I vowed to never visit. Well since I was on my “yolo” vibe all year I finally put the fear to the side and went for it.

BLOG

I’ve been in love with writing for as long as I can remember. I’ve written a collection of poems and songs over the years. The difference in back then and now is my desire to share my writing which is why I created this blog. I wanted a platform where I could share my thoughts and views. I am happy with my growth since going live last month. Going into the new year my plan is to grow a larger audience and connect with more people.

Biggest Lesson Learned

One of my biggest lessons learned this year is that despite our circumstances we have the power to conquer and overcome. This was simply more of a realization and acceptance more than anything for me. I’ve learned to embrace and accept the things that I can not change while continuing to work towards self improvement.

A Special Thank You

I just want to give a special thank you for all of you who have taken the time out to visit my page, read a post and leave a comment. The love is greatly appreciated. With that being said I would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
